From all these shots we can see that the Nikon V1 handled exposures very well in bright conditions and did not noticeably blow out any highlights. Its dynamic range was also quite good.

The Nikon 1 V1 has its flaws -- the menu system and buttons are unintuitive, the sensor is very small and it seems to have a problem with stabilisation -- but it sure can capture vibrant colours and clear details when it wants to. We took it for a walk from Sydney Harbour to Darling Harbour on a bright and sunny Sydney day to see just how well it performs.
For all shots we used Program mode and the 10-30mm kit lens. We also framed nearly all the shots using the built-in electronic viewfinder and none of the shots have been cropped; vertical shots have been put on a bigger background in order to fit our slideshow format.
The Nikon 1 V1 comes in a twin lens kit (10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 and 30-110mm f/3.8-5.6) that costs $1399.
