In pictures: V8 Supercars to feature in Forza 3

Eight unique V8 Supercars from Holden and Ford to be playable

  • Here a FG Ford Falcon V8 Supercar laps the Iberian International Circuit.

  • The V8 Supercars have higher performance ratings than the exotic C-class performance cars from the game’s E3 demonstration build.

  • V8 Supercars from Ford and Holden were on display at the event.

  • While the VE Holden V8 Supercars’ PI was 3 points lower, statistics were identical.

  • [[artnid: 317070|At an event held in a Sydney Lamborghini showroom]] today, V8 Supercars Australia announced a partnership that will see eight V8 Supercars appearing in the upcoming Forza Motorsport 3 racing simulation on Xbox 360.

  • The Holden stable features cars from Toll Racing, Garry Rogers Motorsport, Supercheap Auto Racing and Sprint Gas Racing.

  • The cars feature the unique racing livery of each team.

  • Drivers, including Mark Winterbottom and Garth Tander, were present for the announcement. There was a playable build of the game on display in a series of racing setups.

  • Members of the media were invited to attempt to beat the professional drivers’ lap times (and GoodGearGuide beat them).

  • Forza Motorsport 3 has an Australian release date of 22 October.

  • All eight cars were available to play with.

  • The V8 Supercars are rated in the game’s R3 rating class, with a Performance Index of between 717 and 720.

  • The drivers drove demonstration hot laps using V8 Supercars on the Iberian International Circuit. Here a VE Holden Commodore V8 Supercar is shown on a post-lap relay. UPDATE: On its Twitter page, game developer [[xref:|Turn10 Studios has stated| @Turn10Studios]] that the Bathurst track would not be included in the game's release.

  • Ford fans will be able to drive cars from Team Vodafone, Ford Performance Racing, Stone Brothers Racing and Britek Motorsport.

  • Four VE Holden Commodore and four FG Ford Falcon V8 Supercars are included, with modeling and graphics accurate for the 2009 season.

  • Ford’s FG V8 Supercars had slightly higher PI statistics than the Holden marque cars, although pure statistics were identical.
