Azentek yesterday launched the world's first fully integrated in-car PC into the Australian market.
Azentek also unveiled the SmartMirror, a rear view mirror replacement with integrated GPS navigation. The SmartMirror features a 4in touch-screen LCD monitor with integrated Bluetooth and comes with a reversing camera. The SmartMirror will be available in November from selected automotive accessory retailers and vehicle manufacturers for $1499 plus fitting.
The CPC-1200 and CPC-1100 units provide all the features of a high-end car audio system, in addition to full GPS navigation, connectivity to a mobile phone via Bluetooth, multimedia playback and optional automobile diagnostics capabilities. The GPS functions utlise NAVTEQ maps but run the Navigon user interface and features.
When connected to a wireless broadband modem, the units allow users to send and receive email, surf the Web and listen to Internet radio. They also feature integrated FM and digital TV tuners and are satellite radio and HD radio ready.
The Azentek CPC-1200 has a 6.5in display and fits into a double DIN dash slot. It features an Intel Core Duo processor, a 160GB hard drive and 1GB of memory. It is a complete Microsoft Windows Vista–based PC. Its little brother, the CPC-1100 has almost identical specifications, but fits into a single DIN dash slot and has a slightly larger 7in display.
Pricing is yet to be announced for the CPC-1200 and CPC-1100 units, but they’re expected to sell for around $4500 excluding fitting, and will be available in December.
