Nikon's D700 and SB900

First shots of Nikon’s newest DSLR and flash

  • Nikon D700

  • The camera has Nikon’s FX-format sensor with an ISO range of 200 to 6400, as well as continuous shooting abilities at up to five frames per second — which can be bumped up to a spectacular 8fps with the battery pack attached.

  • Nikon’s SB900 Speedlight

  • The camera has its own proprietary 51-point autofocus system, with a Scene Recognition System that ensures optimum focusing in all situations.

  • Also released was Nikon’s SB900 Speedlight flash unit, sporting an extensive LCD panel and the ability to accept firmware upgrades through supported Nikon cameras — a first for any manufacturer. In addition, the flash can be used wirelessly to provide creative lighting for any scene.
