Once costing in excess of $1000, GPS navigation units, or sat navs, can now be purchased for very reasonable prices. Christmas is one of the best times to buy a GPS unit and throw away your street directory for good; the cheapest GPS devices can be bought for under $200, while even the top of the line models can now be bought for well under $500.
We've rounded up the best GPS navigation devices on sale this Christmas, from leading brands including TomTom, Garmin and Navman.
8 / 9
TomTom's XXL 540 GPS unit takes the XL 340 and adds an extra-large display, but the navigation experience is similar. Unless you're hell bent on getting a GPS with a big screen, we think most users will be better off saving some money and opting for the XL 340 instead.
