The Cygnett Micro is a re-chargeable portable speaker from Cygnett that can be used with iPods, MP3 players and mobile phones.
Measuring just 47x105x23mm, the Cygnett Micro can easily be slipped in your pocket or handbag. The speaker is made from lightweight black plastic and comes with either a red, silver or pink trim. As it weighs 75g, it’s ideal for use on the go and certainly won’t take up much of your valuable luggage allowance
The Cygnett Micro features an internal lithium ion-battery, which charges via a USB port. It takes between two and four hours to fully charge the battery, and for this you’ll get around three hours listening time.
We found the Cygnett Micro easy to use. Simply connect the speaker, which comes with a built-in amplifier, to the headphone port on your personal audio device using the cable included. The only controls the speaker offers is an on/off switch on the right-hand side (a red LED on the front also indicates when the device is turned on).
To play, pause, stop and skip tracks, as well as adjust the volume, you’ll need to use the controls on your personal audio device. We did find there was distortion on some tracks (in particularly bass heavy songs) if we cranked the volume up. However overall the Cygnett Micro speaker provided a clear sound.
It’s also worth remembering that if you intend to use the speaker on holiday, you’ll need your laptop close to hand to recharge the Cygnett Micro.
