Canon PowerShot S80

If you're looking for more features in a slightly larger package then Canon's new PowerShot S80 might suit. The new top-of-the-line model in the S range, the S80 offers 8 megapixel resolution with a 3.6x zoom lens that boasts a useful 35mm equivalent...

Infocus 7210

If you say it fast enough, the price of this unit can almost sound like a reasonable amount of money. For most of us, however, that kind of cash represents a substantial investment in a piece of home theatre equipment, so obviously, whatever the toy,...

Miglia Director's Cut Take 2

Digital video may be here to stay but that doesn't mean that analogue video is dead - at least not yet. Most of us still have VHS tapes littering our bookshelves, and some of us (shock horror) haven't yet replaced that old video handycam with a moder...

Sony HDRFX1E

Before rushing out to buy a new digital handycam, take a moment to consider whether you want to spend all that money on a format that could soon be consigned to the dustbin of history. Which format? Why, digital video (DV), of course. Higher resoluti...

Nikon D2X

While most of us can only dream of owning a high-end digital SLR like the Canon EOS 1Ds Mk II, for professional photographers the high price tag is more than repaid in the extra power and reliability these cameras provide. While Canon owns the lion's...

Canon PowerShot S2 IS

Big-zoom, image-stabilised cameras are a hot item. While previously we have looked at the Panasonic Lumix FZ5 and the Sony CyberShot H1, this time round it's Canon's latest, the PowerShot S2 IS.

Kodak EasyShare Printer Dock Series 3

Kodak's range of Printer Docks are thermal dye printers (also known as dye-sublimation printers). The result is an image that is essentially indistinguishable from prints from a commercial photo lab; detail is superb.

Sony DCR-DVD201E

Sony's DCRDVD201E uses either 1.4GB, 8cm DVD-R or DVD-RW. When recording in standard play mode, you'll get between 23 and 26 minutes of footage on one disc. You can get more on a disc by using long play mode but at the cost of image quality. The most...

Lexmark P315

Lexmark's P315 is a three-colour thermal inkjet printer that uses a standard Lexmark tricolour cartridge. Unusually, it has no PC connectivity options at all; to print from the P315 you either insert your flash memory card in its card reader slots or...

Sony DPP-FP50

A member of Sony's line of dye-sublimation photo printers, the DPP-FP50 is a sleek little unit designed to look stylish yet unobtrusive in your living room. And why would you want it in your lounge? Because it features an AV port and a remote control...

JVC Everio GZ-MC200

With the Everio GZ-MC200 camcorder, JVC takes an interesting approach to the problem of storing large amounts of high-quality video on digital media. Where some camcorders, such as Sony's DCRDVD201E, have renounced DV tape in favour of 8cm DVD discs,...

Olympus E-300

In order to keep the cost of the camera low, the E-300 trims fat in areas the average photographer won't notice. Even so, it manages to look and feel like a more expensive camera. Its solid body has an aluminium chassis covered in Olympus's trademark...

Samsung Digimax V50

Samsung's top-of-the-line Digimax V50 is a 5 megapixel, $699 camera sporting a 3X Schneider Kreuznach zoom lens. The lens, with a 35mm equivalent range of 38 to 113mm, isn't going to let you grab close-ups of wildlife, but it's good for standard snap...

Mediagate Portable MPEG Player

The $190 Mediagate portable MPEG-4 player is a clever device that allows you to play multiple media types, including DivX and MPEG-4 formats, by attaching it to a TV and/or receiver. So unlike the more expensive options, you don't get a built-in scre...

D-Link DSM-320 Wireless Media Player

MP3 music; MPEG and DivX/XviD movies; digital photo collections--these manifestations of the digital age have entered most of our lives through our PCs, not our home entertainment centres. But recognising that many people want to access their digital...

It’s perfect for mobile workers. Just take it out — it’s small enough to sit anywhere — turn it on, load a sheet of paper, and start printing.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8730

A smarter way to print for busy small business owners, combining speedy printing with scanning and copying, making it easier to produce high quality documents and images at a touch of a button.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8730

I've had a multifunction printer in the office going on 10 years now. It was a neat bit of kit back in the day -- print, copy, scan, fax -- when printing over WiFi felt a bit like magic. It’s seen better days though and an upgrade’s well overdue. This HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 looks like it ticks all the same boxes: print, copy, scan, and fax. (Really? Does anyone fax anything any more? I guess it's good to know the facility’s there, just in case.) Printing over WiFi is more-or- less standard these days.
