EA held a SimCity competition in Sydney to celebrate the upcoming release of the game

As part of its search to find the best SimCity players in Australia, EA hosted a six hour challenge in Sydney's Circular Quay.

Refrencing the Glassbox technology used to run SimCity, EA erected a glass box in front of Customs House for the competition.

Several skilled SimCity players rom Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales donned work vests and helmets before entering the "bio-dome" to play the game, which is coming out on March 7.

The goal for the players was to build the biggest city within the time limit, with the winner decided by the largest city population.

Celebrity ambassador Ryan 'Fitzy' Fitzgerald was in attendance, as well as Big Brother’s Stacey Wren.

The winning team, a pair from Melbourne, won a SimCity flavoured Sydney experience, consisting of a helicopter ride over the city, a jet boat ride in the Harbour and a Sydney Harbour Bridge climb.
