Star Wars: The Force Unleashed getting DLC

Playable character models and a new mission.

LucasArts Tuesday announced that Skywalker and company are coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the Force Unleashed, in addition to a new downloadable mission.

The first bits of downloadable content coming to PSN and Xbox Live will feature playable character models, including Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ki-Adi-Mundi, and Kit Fisto, that can be used in the campaign mode.

A second download, expected later this year, includes a new single-player mission modeled after an exclusive level found on PSP and PS2 versions of the game. Pricing and availability of the expansions were not disclosed, but LucasArts promised "additional themes and picture packs" over time.

"I wouldn't rule out any future content on The Force Unleashed," executive producer Haden Blackman told Kotaku on Tuesday. "We hope gamers hold onto the game. There is already a lot of replayability built into it. If you enjoy the story and gameplay the first time through, you should enjoy this."

Last week, LucasArts announced that The Force Unleashed sold an impressive 1.5 million copies across eight platforms, making it the fastest selling Star Wars game of all time.
