A string of recent image and other online leaks have suggested another new Pixel device might soon be on its way.
According to 9to5Google, the device is aimed at the mid-range market and codenamed 'Sargo.
The potential specs being thrown around for this potential 'Pixel Lite' include an IPS LCD display (a step down from the Pixel 3's OLED one), a Snapdragon 600-series processor, 4GB of RAM and a lean 32GB of on-board storage.
As with the regular Pixel devices, the camera is expected to be the key point-of-difference here versus the competition. However, since so much of what makes the Pixel's camera powerful comes down to software - there's a decent reason to hope that the Pixel Lite might be able to pull off some truly-incredible results with some pretty-mundane hardware.
Again, this all super-unofficial - so it's unknown how accurate this info is. Still, the idea of a 'Pixel Lite' sounds pretty-exciting. Google's Pixel devices have been great but some difficult to recommend due to the higher flagship pricing.
Google haven't tee'd up any hardware events in the near future, so it's unknown if and when this device will be officially announced - and, even then, whether it will actually come to Australia.
