LG consolidates AI tech under THINQ brand

LG Electronics has announced that the company's future home appliances, consumer electronics and services that utilize artificial intelligence will be covered under a new sub-brand called LG ThinQ.

"Our new ThinQ platform for LG's intelligent products is the latest way that LG is delivering innovations that make consumers' lives easier and more enjoyable," said David VanderWaal, vice president of marketing for LG Electronics USA.

"LG ThinQ enables deep learning technology and connectivity across household products, delivering even greater capabilities and convenience."

The company say that ThinQ products and services will all have the ability to employ deep learning and communicate with one another to make consumers' lives easier, utilizing a variety of AI technologies from other partners as well as LG's own AI technology, DeepThinQ.

The first products to fall under the brand are expected to be on display at the upcoming CES 2018.

Some of LG's older smart appliances used to be group under a similar-brand, called Smart Thinq. However, this new brand seems closer in line to what Samsung are pursuing with their own Bixby 2.0.

Locally, LG Australia says that "Availability, pricing and specifications for Australia have yet to be determined. More information will be provided as it becomes available."

If you can afford the price tag, it is well worth the money. It out performs any other laptop I have tried for gaming, and the transportable design and incredible display also make it ideal for work.
