David Jones to bring new tech to retail stores

David Jones is set to move on the consumer tech space, with the department store today announcing it plans to begin offering AV, smart home and personal tech products through its retail stores.

David Jones Chief Executive Officer David Thomas said, “We have created an entirely new experience for our customers which brings together the latest and best edit of audiovisual and technology in an interactive environment. Our aim is to provide customers with an elevated offering through a combination of curated premium product, an interactive in store experience, expert advice and specialised after sales service.We’ve made a significant investment in our Technology team and worked closely with each of our brand partners to ensure a new level of bespoke service for our customers.”

From Thursday the 9th of November, David Jones will begin offering a curated selection of consumer tech products from brands like Bang & Olufsen, Sony, Panasonic, Samsung,LG,Audiopro, Naim and Devialet. The department store plans to supplement this offering with a premium at-home installation and after sales service to ensure customers get the best out of their new products.

Branded as David Jones Technology, the endeavor will also try to tap into the hype around connect home products like Google Home by featuring state-of-the-art concept rooms demonstrating the way technology now integrates with home products such as lighting, weather systems,multi-room wireless speakers and TVs.

Tech products like phones,accessories, smartwatches, headphonesand tablets from global brands such as Apple, Samsung,Native Union, Knomo of London,Sennheiser and Master & Dynamic will also be stocked.

David Jones Technology will be available nationwide in eight key stores across Australia- Market Street, Sydney; Bondi Junction, Sydney; Chatswood, Sydney; Bourke Street, Melbourne; Chadstone, Melbourne; Queensplaza, Brisbane; Adelaide Central Plaza, Adelaide and Hay Street, Perth.
