Amazon has announced that Myer, Australia’s largest department store chain, is now an official retailer of Amazon Kindle products. The relationship brings Kindle e-readers and accessories to Myer’s shelves as well as to its popular online store.

“We are thrilled to announce our program with Myer, a true icon of Australian retailing,” said Scott Harrington, Director of Amazon Device Sales.

“We want to help make it as easy as possible for Australian’s to delve into a good story. Now that Australian’s can shop for Kindle e-readers and accessories at Myer, we’re one step closer to that goal.”

Myer will stock a selection of Kindle e-readers including the Kindle Voyage, which features a modern design with a beautiful flush glass front and magnesium back so it is strong, thin and light. It features an adaptive light which will adjust the brightness depending on the environment you are in.

The Kindle Paperwhite features a high resolution display and an adjustable front light to make reading easy on the eyes.

The Kindle is Amazon’s most affordable e-reader and comes with a touchscreen display as well as well-loved features of Kindle such as Whispersync, Smart Lookup and Goodreads integration.

All Amazon Kindle e-readers include displays that are easy to read with no glare, even in bright sunlight, have battery life that is measured in weeks rather than hours, and are lightweight and easy to hold and read for hours. Myer will also offer a range of device accessories such as lightweight, hard-wearing covers and cases.

“Myer is passionate about offering our customers only the best brands, so this collaboration is a natural fit for us,” said Dain Friis, Myer Group General Manager Home and Entertainment.

“Amazon Kindle e-readers are well-loved in Australia, and are a welcome addition to our existing range of entertainment products.”

The Kindle Voyage (AUD$299), Kindle Paperwhite (AUD $179) and Kindle (AUD$109) are now available in selected Myer stores and online at myer.com.au.
