HTC will release a Google Play edition of its recently unveiled One (M8) smartphone. The new device will couple the One M8's premium hardware with Android KitKat software free from HTC's Sense user interface.
News of a Google Play Edition of the M8 was revealed by HTC in the description of its HTC Gallery application on Google Play.
Support for HTC One(M8) Google Play Edition is limited to HTC Photo Edit
The M8 Google Play Edition will support HTC's proprietary DuoCamera technology, which makes it possible to refocus photos after they have been saved.
This is the second Google Play edition smartphone to come from the company after demand from customers led to the release of the HTC One M7 Google Play Edition.
More details regarding the Google Play Edition of the HTC M8 will likely be revealed at Google's I/O conference in June.
