Our Fujitsu reader reviews program has come to an end; winner announced

The winner of our first Good Gear Guide Evaluation Team program has been announced

Late last year, we introduced the Good Gear Guide Evaluation Team program, in which we open up the product review process to small and medium business users, whom we call Good Gear Testers. The goal of the Evaluation Team is to get new technology into the hands of the people who need it most, allowing them to review new equipment for roll-outs in their business, or as BYOD solutions.

This is the first of many reader-based product reviews programs we hope to bring you.
This is the first of many reader-based product reviews programs we hope to bring you.

We’re happy to report that our inaugural program fetched over 100 participants who were keen to get their hands on some new technology by the first vendor to participate in this program: Fujitsu. Fujitsu supplied three different products to these users directly so that they could be trialled in everyday work environments, on the road, and at home. These products were the Fujitsu Stylistic Q702 hybrid tablet, the Stylistic Q572 tablet, and the Lifebook UH574 Ultrabook.

While the program is mainly for the benefit of the participants, to see if a particular piece of technology suits their business needs, we also asked users to submit a review of the equipment they tested. We wanted them to give a real-world perspective on how the devices performed for the various functions that were used. Of these reviews, we selected one winning review that we think gives a fair representation of the product’s abilities and features, as well as healthy criticism.

The winning review we have selected is from Kathy Cassidy, who provides a good rundown of the Q702 hybrid tablet in her write-up, from its style and top-heavy design, to its handwriting recognition and battery life. For her efforts, she will receive her very own Fujitsu Stylistic Q702. Congratulations, Kathy.

Fujistu's Stylistic Q702 received lots of positive feedback from our Good Gear Testers, though many complained about the price.

Microsoft Office 365/Dell XPS 15 2-in-1

I’d recommend a Dell XPS 15 2-in-1 and the new Windows 10 to anyone who needs to get serious work done (before you kick back on your couch with your favourite Netflix show.)

Maryellen Rose George

Brother PT-P750W

It’s useful for office tasks as well as pragmatic labelling of equipment and storage – just don’t get too excited and label everything in sight!

Brother MFC-L8900CDW

The Brother MFC-L8900CDW is an absolute stand out. I struggle to fault it.

MSI GT75 TITAN

I need power and lots of it. As a Front End Web developer anything less just won’t cut it which is why the MSI GT75 is an outstanding laptop for me. It’s a sleek and futuristic looking, high quality, beast that has a touch of sci-fi flare about it.

MSI GE63 Raider

If you’re looking to invest in your next work horse laptop for work or home use, you can’t go wrong with the MSI GE63.

MSI GS65 Stealth Thin

If you can afford the price tag, it is well worth the money. It out performs any other laptop I have tried for gaming, and the transportable design and incredible display also make it ideal for work.
