AMD gives away Saints Row IV with new Radeon cards

Graphics card vendor adds open-world game to its list of free titles included with a new card purchase

After adding Tomb Raider and Crysis 3 for its Never Settle Reloaded program, AMD is now including Saints Row IV as part of its new Never Settle Forever campaign.

Never Settle is an ongoing promotion run by AMD to entice gamers to purchase a Radeon card by giving away recently released games.

Saints Row IV, an open world action game developed by Volition and published by Deep Silver, will be made available to anyone who purchases an AMD Radeon HD 7990, 7970 GHz Edition, 7970 and 7950 graphics cards.

AMD graphics business unit corporate vice president and general manager, Matt Skynner, said the inclusion of recent games, such as Saints Row IV, is made possible through close ISV (independent software vendor) partnerships with leading developers.

“The Never Settle Forever program is an entirely new dimension of that commitment, as it pioneers the concept of a completely customisable game bundle,” he said.

“For the very first time, gamers can assemble their own perfect bundle from a vast catalogue of games optimised for AMD technology.”

Since the games are provided as digital downloads, a customer has the option to redeem games immediately or wait for new titles to become available until December 31.

Price drops

In addition to the inclusion of Saints Row IV, AMD has announced a price drop of certain Radeon cards, with the HD 7990 now retailing for $949, HD 7970 GHz Edition for $479, HD7970 for $419 and HD 7950 for $319.

AMD's Radeon RAMDisk software, which makes use of unused RAM to improve load and execution times, has also been dropped by $10 to $8.99 as part of the Never Settle Forever campaign.

The updated Never Settle bundle and discounted cards can be purchased from Umart, Computer Alliance, Gamedude, MSY, CPL, J&W, IIbuy, IJK, ARC, LDS, Centrecom, Scorptech, PCCG, Mwave, Playtech, PBTech, Austin, PLE and NetPlus.

Radeon cards are also distributed in Australia by Synnex (including New Zealand), Altech, PB Tech, Dove, Rectron and Achieva Technology.
