iPhone 5S with new Home button coming 20 Sept, budget iPhone a week later

The latest rumours about Apple's next iPhone predict a September unveiling for two new models

The weekend was a busy one for iPhone rumours, with the recent influx of leaks and speculation suggesting that the release of new iPhone models, which could include an iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 and/or iPhone Lite, is rapidly approaching. And, if the latest rumours are anything to go by, we may have just 12 weeks left to wait.

iPhone 5S, iOS 7, low-cost iPhone coming in September

In a very precise prediction, International Business Times has suggested that the next generation iPhone, which it says will be called the iPhone 5S, will be released on 20 September, two days after iOS 7 rolls out and 10 days after an Apple special event. IBT even goes as far as to suggest that the rumoured budget iPhone could be called "iPhone 6" or "iPhone Lite", just one or two weeks later, on either 27 September or 4 October.

IBT bases its prediction mainly on Apple's past iPhone and iOS launches, claiming that the reason for the separation of the release dates of the two new iPhones, that is, the day they go on sale in Apple Stores, is to reduce overcrowding in its retail stores on launch day.

Further still, IBT's report predicts that Apple will hold a second special event in October to unveil an iPad 5 and new iPad mini. Plus, we could even see major changes to the Apple TV and maybe even the rumoured iWatch, the report suggests.

Apple could ditch traditional Home button icon in favour of Apple logo

Another rumour to have emerged over the weekend comes in the form of a leaked Home button image.

The home button, which is believed to belong to the next-generation iPhone, replaces the Home button icon that we've seen on previous models of iPhone with the Apple logo.

The photo, published by Letemsvetermapplem, could of course be of a completely fake part, but it has been rumoured that Apple will introduce a fingerprint sensor beneath the Home button in a future iPhone, so perhaps the space left by the Apple logo cut out will allow such feature to be implemented.

New iPhone's battery pictured on assembly line

Finally, another leaked photograph surfaced online this weekend, this time showing what appears to be the new iPhone's battery in trays that have just come off the assembly line.

The photos were highlighted by French blog NoWhereElse.Fr, which notes that there is no way to confirm whether or not these photographs are legitimate due to the lack of markings on the batteries.

However, just last week, photos of what was claimed to be the iPhone 5S's display on the assembly line were leaked, so together, these photos suggest that mass production of the upcoming smartphone is in full swing.

I've had a multifunction printer in the office going on 10 years now. It was a neat bit of kit back in the day -- print, copy, scan, fax -- when printing over WiFi felt a bit like magic. It’s seen better days though and an upgrade’s well overdue. This HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 looks like it ticks all the same boxes: print, copy, scan, and fax. (Really? Does anyone fax anything any more? I guess it's good to know the facility’s there, just in case.) Printing over WiFi is more-or- less standard these days.

Ultimately, I think the Windows 10 environment is excellent for me as it caters for so many different uses. The inclusion of the Xbox app is also great for when you need some downtime too!

For me, the Xbox Play Anywhere is a great new feature as it allows you to play your current Xbox games with higher resolutions and better graphics without forking out extra cash for another copy. Although available titles are still scarce, but I’m sure it will grow in time.
