A post by Nokia's editor of Conversations blog, Ian Delaney, confirms that the company will be "announcing something new" on Wednesday morning UK time, which translates to 5pm AEST time.

The blog post doesn't specify exactly what new product being released, but the image posted with the entry appears to show the corner of a yellow QWERTY keyboard device.

On Wednesday morning at 7am GMT (8am UK time) we will be announcing something new, followed by a Q&A session with Neil Broadley from our Mobile Phones team and a special guest.

The device is expected to be a low-cost Asha phone running Nokia's OS Series 40. Nokia has previously released five Asha devices with QWERTY keyboards, mainly for emerging markets.

In the last quarter of 2012, Nokia sold more 9.3 million Asha handsets worldwide, more than double the 4.4 million Windows Phone Lumia smartphones shipped during the same period.
