iPhone 6 rumours: Apple job listing hints at new colours for next iPhone

Apple is searching for an Anodizing Engineer to work on next-generation products

A new Apple job listing hints that the company could be planning to introduce new colours for its next-generation iPhone, dubbed iPhone 6 or iPhone 5S.

The listing, which was posted on Apple's Jobs site on Friday, is searching for an Anodizing Engineer to join the Manufacturing Design team to help create the next-generation Apple products.

The iPhone 5 comes in Black & Slate and White & Silver models, both with anodized 6000 series aluminium backs, the same material used in MacBooks. Reports have suggested that Apple could anodize the aluminium back plate of the next iPhone to bring new colours to the line-up, as it has done already with its new iPod touch and its iPod nano line up.

We've heard rumours that the next-generation iPhone will come in multiple colours since the end of 2012, with Jefferies analyst Peter Misek claiming that the iPhone 6 will be available in six to eight colours, and Topeka Capital analyst Brian White also suggesting a possible eight colours for the device earlier this year.

It’s perfect for mobile workers. Just take it out — it’s small enough to sit anywhere — turn it on, load a sheet of paper, and start printing.

I've had a multifunction printer in the office going on 10 years now. It was a neat bit of kit back in the day -- print, copy, scan, fax -- when printing over WiFi felt a bit like magic. It’s seen better days though and an upgrade’s well overdue. This HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 looks like it ticks all the same boxes: print, copy, scan, and fax. (Really? Does anyone fax anything any more? I guess it's good to know the facility’s there, just in case.) Printing over WiFi is more-or- less standard these days.
