Bose Solo boosts your sound, boosts your TV

Single-cabinet speaker system provides a solid stand for your TV to sit on

If you're looking for a way to lift your TV up by a few inches, and if you want better sound quality for your shows and movies, Bose has you covered: its new Solo sound system fits under a compact, high-quality speaker under your screen.

Bose's Doug Lankford says that while TVs have made advancements in displaying images, they haven't in reproducing sound: “TV picture quality has improved over the years, but its audio quality hasn’t.

"“The Bose Solo TV sound system was developed for the love of TV –- for people who don’t want a home theatre system. "

The Solo fits Bose's 'proprietary speaker technology' into a single cabinet, but it's still a stereo speaker — there are two speakers and a bass port on the left and right front sides of the cabinet.

The Bose Solo is 53cm wide, 30cm deep and 7.1cm high — wide and deep enough to accommodate the stands of most current 32-inch to 42-inch flat-screen LCD and plasma TVs.

It's got a coaxial and an optical digital audio input for hooking up modern high-end TVs, and an analog stereo input for connecting mor basic screens. A remote control is included in the Bose Solo's package.

As the Maserati or BMW of laptops, it would fit perfectly in the hands of a professional needing firepower under the hood, sophistication and class on the surface, and gaming prowess (sports mode if you will) in between.
