Instaprint lets you print your Instagram photos Polaroid-style; hipsters love it

Let your inner hipster go wild at your next ugly sweater party with one of these Polaroid-style booths.

Have you ever been to a meet-up, a conference, or a party where attendees throw around Twitter hashtags like crazy in order to create a live-stream of sorts? Of course, this can seem quite chaotic and may not interest many guests, but you could instead use something quirky instead, like Instaprint.

Instaprint, by New York-based company Breakfast, adds extra functionality to the Instagram app, but focuses around events and/or the event location element. Instaprint combines a Web app with a small photo printer (the company calls it a photo booth) that tie into Instagram.

The "photo booth" prints Polaroid-style photos of any Instagram photos associated with a specific Twitter-style hashtag, or geotagged with certain GPS coordinates. The photo will also appear on the Instaprint website's gallery.

As you can imagine, this little gadget could be cool to have at a party: Just hang the booth on the wall, ask your friends to use a specific hashtag to go along with their photos, and let Instaprint collect and print the memories. In addition to the booth, the website allows booth owners to see what is being uploaded for their booth to print out (handy if lots of people are tagging their photos) in a gallery. For a big event, booths can be chained together for faster

Instaprint is currently in Kickstarter mode, so it isn't available for purchase just yet. You can give the first prototypes a try, though: Simply upload a photo to Instagram with the hashtag #instaprint and not only will it appear on the website gallery, but the tester booths will print your submission--you can watch it via a live stream just to make sure too.

If you want to get your hands on one of these, then make sure you head over to Kickstarter and make a pledge. Breakfast needs to raise $500,000 to turn the prototypes into sleeker, faster, more compact, and generally better units to sell. Put down $399, and you'll get a full booth kit and 25 sheets of the required paper.
