Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 coming to PS Vita in February in Australia and New Zealand

Heroes & Heralds mode DLC from console edition of the game to be already integrated

Following the recent launch of the PlayStation Vita system in Japan, the Australian distributor for Capcom, THQ, has announced that the Vita version of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will be available locally on 23 February 2012.

Already available now on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is an updated release of Capcom's superhero fighting game Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, which saw release in February of this year and itself is a sequel to 2000's Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes.

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 adds 12 new characters from the Marvel and Capcom universes to the existing roster of 36 fighters, as well as tweaks to the fighting system, eight new stages and new modes.

According to THQ A/NZ associate PR manager, Alan Moore, the PS Vita edition of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will contain everything a user would find in the PS3 version, such as online and local multiplayer, as well as Vita-specific additions such as touchscreen functionality.

"In addition, the PS Vita version includes a Spectator Mode and Replay function that allows players to watch or share exciting matches over Wi-Fi", Moore added.

Other PS Vita exclusives include Gold Herald colour options for characters, as well as the ability to turn the PS Vita into a controller to play the PS3 version of the game.

The recently released Heroes & Heralds mode DLC, which was made available for free download this week on PS3's PSN and Xbox 360's Xbox Live Marketplace, will already be integrated into the Vita version of the game when it is released.

The DLC adds a separate mode with new and customizable features to online and offline gameplay, where players choose to fight with the Heroes or Heralds to help save the world or take it over respectively.
