The third iteration of the Humble Bundle indie games pack has been released, with five games available from developer Frozenbyte. Buyers pick their own price and can allocate as much money as they want between game developers, the Child's Play charity and the Electronic Frontiers Foundation.

The first two Humble Bundle packs, with the first released in May and the second in December of 2010, let buyers choose their own price for a bundle of independently produced video games. Both packs were incredibly successful commercially, with sales of $1 million and $1.8 million respectively. The latest bundle includes games from developer Frozenbyte — the 2009 title Trine, 2005 title Shadowgrounds and 2007 sequel Shadowgrounds: Survivor. A pre-order for Frozenbyte game Splot is also included, as is an unfinished prototype version of a game called Jack Claw.

The minimum price users are required to pay for the newest Humble Bundle is one US cent, although the Web site displays a cartoon with a dejected warrior holding a card saying "Hungry hero. Spare a dollar?" if a value of less than US$1 is entered. Any contributor paying more than $200 can choose to display their donation publicly. A set of sliders lets buyers allocate different percentages of their purchase price towards the games' developer Frozenbyte, the Child's Play charity which provides toys and video games to children in hospital, digital rights advocacy group Electronic Frontiers Foundation and Humble Bundle Inc., which provides bandwidth and support for the Bundle Web site.

All games in the Humble Bundle are DRM-free and work on Windows, Mac and Linux platforms. Redemption keys for Steam and other online gaming services are also available after purchasing. Since the third Humble Bundle's release on April 12, over US$285000 has been paid to Humble Bundle nearly 56000 purchases — an average purchase price of just over US$5 each. Two contributors have paid over $1000 for the bundle — one of which is OnLive, the cloud-based gaming on demand service whose redemption key for Trine is included when purchasing the Humble Bundle.

The third Humble Bundle indie games pack will be on sale until April 28.
