FetchTV to offer movies from 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures, Madman Entertainment and WWE Studios

FetchTV today announced that content from four more movie studios would be added to its subscription IPTV service, bringing the total studio count in the company's offering to 12. Previously, content was supplied from Warner, Hopscotch, Lionsgate, Disney, Universal, Paramount, Roadshow and Icon. The new deal adds new release movies from Twentieth Century Fox, Madman, Sony Pictures, and WWE Studios.

Pricing for new release movies will vary depending on the quality, with high-definition versions costing $6.95 and standard definition costing $5.95. Pricing for library films (that is, older releases) will be set at $3.95. The movies will have a viewing period of 48 hours from the time they are bought.

Kylie Minnich, vice-president of distribution for Sony Pictures Television said, "The FetchTV model is a great consumer proposition and we're pleased to offer many of our blockbuster feature films on the service." New movies from Sony will be available on FetchTV in early March, and will include Salt, Grown Ups, The Karate Kid and Cemetery Junction. Down the line, viewers can look forward to titles such as The Social Network and The Green Hornet. Titles from Twentieth Century Fox that will be available on FetchTV from this month include Wall Street: Money never Sleeps, Predators and Marmaduke.

Madman Entertainment is a distributor of Australian films, independent movies, world cinema, documentaries and anime, and it will offer titles such as Banksy's Exit Through the Gift Shop. Scott Lorsen, CEO of FetchTV, said of Madman Entertainment, "Madman provides a rich array of independent and special interest movies, which rounds out our movie offering. We're now able to complement the big Hollywood blockbusters with the best movies from world cinema and independent film makers".

Titles from WWE Studios will include Knucklehead, The Chaperone and That's What I Am.

ISPs currently offering FetchTV services are Adam Internet, iiNet and Internode.
