Have a look at what we thought were the best home theatre projectors of 2010, as well as the overall best projectors of 2010.

The new Pro8200 uses a seven-segment DLP colour wheel and claims lifelike colour reproduction, using a Pixelworks PW980 video processor that allows 10-bit colour processing as well as a range of other visual enhancements. The Viewsonic Pro8200 is rated at 2000 lumens in its maximum brightness mode, but an eco-friendly mode can also be enabled to cut brightness and extend the projector's lamp life to 6000 hours. A high 4000:1 static contrast ratio means the Viewsonic Pro8200 is suitable for home theatre use.

The ViewSonic Pro8200 has two HDMI inputs as well as legacy analog connectors and a serial port for home automation. Lens shift is available on the 1.5x zoom lens which is manually focused.

The Pro8200 will be available by the end of February.

As the Maserati or BMW of laptops, it would fit perfectly in the hands of a professional needing firepower under the hood, sophistication and class on the surface, and gaming prowess (sports mode if you will) in between.
