Foxtel coming to Telstra T-Box in May

Telstra T-Box customers to be offered 30 Foxtel streaming digital TV channels in May

Foxtel will be available on the Telstra T-Box by May 2011.

Foxtel will be available on the Telstra T-Box by May 2011.

Telstra and Foxtel have signed an agreement that will let Telstra T-Box users stream and watch 30 Foxtel digital TV channels for free, including popular channels like FOX8, Discovery, Movie One and Showtime Premiere. In addition, more than 300 movies and television programs will be made available to T-Box users through Foxtel's On Demand service.

Seven BigPond TV channels are already available on the Telstra T-Box, as well as HD quality BigPond Movies on demand. The T-Box competes with the Foxtel iQ and TiVo HD set top boxes. A Telstra BigPond broadband Internet connection is required to use the video streaming features of the T-Box. The new Foxtel service offered through the Telstra T-Box will only be available to customers in existing Foxtel metropolitan coverage zones.

This move is another channel of distribution for Foxtel, which has made its television service available to Microsoft Xbox 360 users, Telstra customers on a post-paid iPhone plan and to online-only subscribers.
