Telstra has launched a new Facebook service called Blurtl that lets you record 30 second audio clips to post as a status update, or as a message on a friend's wall.
You'll first need to give permission for Telstra's Blurtl app to access your Facebook page, and then you can call 0458 BLURTL (0458 258 785) from any Australian mobile phone to record your message. Once you have finished recording, the Blurtl audio message will appear as your Facebook status.
The Blurtl service itself is free to use on Facebook, though a phone call to 0458 BLURTL to record your message is charged at the standard call rate.
"Whether recording your baby's first words to share with all your Facebook friends, leaving a personalised, audio Happy Birthday wall post to your mate in London, or updating your status with a quirky voice message that you're engaged, Blurtl will add an extra dose of personality to Aussie Facebook pages," said Telstra Consumer Executive Director Rebekah O'Flaherty.
