Lexmark Genesis multifunction inkjet printer (preview)

The Lexmark Genesis printer uses a camera to scan documents and photos instantly

The Lexmark Genesis inkjet printer is a high-end multifunction device aimed at homes and home offices. Its standout feature is an integrated camera CMOS sensor that captures 10-megapixel images, for instant scanning of documents and photos with good detail levels.

The Lexmark Genesis printer has a design that's interesting to say the least. It looks like it should be pressing shirts in a laundromat rather than scanning and printing in an office, but the upright design does make it stand out from the competition. We were initially confused as to how documents would stay in the scanning tray, but a small lip allows you to securely place them during scanning.

A 4.3in LCD screen offers access to a small range of applications and extra features — you can print off directions to the nearest ink supplier, for example. 802.11n Wi-Fi lets you connect the printer to a wireless network, and a rated output of up to 30 colour and 33 monochrome pages means the Genesis should be as fast as its competitors like the Canon PIXMA MG8150 and HP Photosmart eStation All-in-One.

If you can afford the price tag, it is well worth the money. It out performs any other laptop I have tried for gaming, and the transportable design and incredible display also make it ideal for work.
