I had a conversation with Super Street Fighter IV director Yoshinori Ono a few weeks ago at Tokyo Game Show where he hinted at the possibility of bonus levels returning to the series. According to Ono, many gamers wished the heavily Street Fighter II-influenced game would include stages like barrel-punching and car-destroying (YouTube) but the team could not include them since the game was released in arcades first, and the stages would be counter-productive to earning money.
With Super Street Fighter IV being primarily created for consoles, the team looks to deliver on the bonus rounds, as the Capcom Unity blog has posted the first image of the car-destroying minigame, showing new fighter Juri alongside a totaled junker. Time will only tell if she can take apart the cars as fast as E. Honda's hundred hand slap or Chun-Li's lightning kicks.
Hopefully, we'll get our hands on those cars sooner rather than later.
