Flight Control breaks App Store sales records

Firemint sells 1.5 million copies of Flight Control in six months

Just five months after its launch, the Flight Control iPhone game has reached 1.5 million downloads. Developed by mobile games studio Firemint, which also made the popular Real Racing iPhone game, Flight Control is the first paid game on Apple's App Store to reach the landmark figure.

Firemint's CEO, Robert Murray, who PC World interviewed in June was ecstatic about the result. “I’m just so incredibly grateful to all the many people around the world who have embraced Flight Control and helped us to reach this amazing milestone. There’s still a lot more Flight Control to come!”

Flight Control sees players take control of a virtual airfield land airplanes and helicopters in a variety of settings. A leaderboard ranks players according to how many planes they have landed in a different airfields. Melbournian Dan Pho is Flight Control's current overall champion. According to his Twitter account, Pho is currently attempting to break the world record in Flight Control Field No. 2, an airfield set in Hawaii.

Firemint currently sells Flight Control on the App Store for $1.19. It has announced that a fourth airfield, based in the Australian outback, will be added to the game in coming weeks.

The HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile Printer is a great device that fits perfectly into my fast paced and mobile lifestyle. My first impression of the printer itself was how incredibly compact and sleek the device was.

A smarter way to print for busy small business owners, combining speedy printing with scanning and copying, making it easier to produce high quality documents and images at a touch of a button.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8730

I've had a multifunction printer in the office going on 10 years now. It was a neat bit of kit back in the day -- print, copy, scan, fax -- when printing over WiFi felt a bit like magic. It’s seen better days though and an upgrade’s well overdue. This HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 looks like it ticks all the same boxes: print, copy, scan, and fax. (Really? Does anyone fax anything any more? I guess it's good to know the facility’s there, just in case.) Printing over WiFi is more-or- less standard these days.
