- 13 July, 2009 13:02

PRESS RELEASE: For Immediate Distribution:

Privately owned boutique GPS Tracking Service company GoFinder has announced the release of Australia’s first sub $400 “bolt on” security tracking device aimed at mining, construction, transport and industrial equipment hire companies.
The compact 14cm x 7.5 cm x3cm GoFinder SmartSystem unit – the size of two packs of cards - operates in conjunction with Globalstar Inc., the world’s largest provider of Mobile satellite voice and data services.(GRAHAM - do we mention Axonn?) NO
“Once installed the GoFinder SmartSystem receives tracking location information from valuable “theft risk” mobile or unpowered assets, vehicles, boats, equipment, cargo and freight anywhere in Australia via the Globalstar Simplex Satellite Network. There is no installation cost involved, the unit operates on AA Lithium Batteries giving up to three year battery life, allowing you a peace of mind birds-eye satellite view of your property online 24/7,” Gofinder Director Graham Thomas said today.

“ The system is available from $399 on a 24 month contract at approximately 80c per day for morning and evening locations. Bespoke configurations can also be arranged to suit individual business needs,” Mr. Thomas said. Monthly service plans start at under $6 per week.
The Gofinder SmartSystem is a further development of the relationship between Gofinder and GPS software designer PhantomEye, an Australian Location Based Services (LBS) global satellite tracking, monitoring and surveillance company. PhantomEye and Gofinder recently launched a business version of its successful MySpot “personal tracking and duress” smartphone system by adding GSM triangulation and a 24 hour automatic SOS calling to its GPS Satellite tracking “panic button” smartphone capabilities. St. Vincents Mental Health Unit in Melbourne has distributed MySpot smartphones to “at risk” staff who visit outpatients at night, (NOTE: Other interesting case studies available – contact Terry Quinn 0439 710 418).
The Gofinder Smartsystem transmits real time GPS locations, alarm inputs and engine run –time data via the Globalstar constellation of earth – orbiting satellites, and is not dependent on mobile phone coverage.
The small size, 14cm x 7.5 cm x3cm allows very easy installation, and AA Lithium batteries allow up to three years life without external power.
“There is a pent-up demand for a sub $400 tracker,” said Graham Thomas, CEO of Gofinder. “especially where you can just bolt it on, switch it on and log in online 24/7 for a bird’s eye view of your property. Both high and low value assets can be managed and secured for under $1 per day”
The GoFinder SmartSystem can be used to protect Trailers, boats, cargo containers, construction and service vehicles, as well as plant and equipment such as portable generators, and is
expected to appeal particularly to plant and equipment hire companies.
