Verbatim has just launched its new eSATA & USB combo HDDs in 3.5" format onto the market. The drives feature super-fast data transfer speeds and are available in 500GB and 1TB models. The eSATA HDDs from Verbatim are now available from retail stores and Verbatim resellers nationally.'

Following Verbatim's unveiling of its USB 3.5" external hard drives in 2008, the storage specialist is now hitting the market with another 3.5" hard drive range. With its eSATA & USB combo HDDs, transfer speeds of up to 3Gbit/s are possible, allowing large volumes of data to be read and written in a matter of seconds. This is six times the speed of a USB 2.0 connection.

"We develop our products to set standards and make users' lives as enjoyable as possible. The speed of our new eSATA HDDs satisfies these criteria perfectly. New technologies will often develop more quickly than we at first anticipate, and thus call for changes in the raft of products that we offer. Speed and openness to change are the key to success when it comes to storage media. Over recent years, we have evolved from being a supplier of almost exclusively CD and DVD products to become a serious contender on the external hard drive market," says Tracy Myers, Product Manager, Computer Accessories, Flash & Hardware, Verbatim Australia.

The lightweight external 3.5" hard drives, weighing less than 1kg, are available with capacities of 500GB or 1TB. The casings feature ventilation slits that allow for an extremely quiet operation by eliminating the need for special cooling fans. Thanks to their small footprint, the hard drives can fit comfortably on any desk, thereby also guaranteeing superlative mobility. Users can enjoy the same comfort and security as with previous 3.5" HDD models, with the inclusion of data back-up software "Nero Back It Up 2 Essentials", which allows data back-ups to be performed quickly and reliably. The necessary eSATA and USB 2.0 cables are also included, along with an AC power pack and a Quick Start Guide.

Pricing and Availability
Verbatim' s eSATA/USB Combo Drives are available from select retailers nationally with suggested retail prices of $189.95, (P/N 47525- 500GB) and $259.95, (P/N 47526- 1TB).
