Leading Milan-based designer of quality notebook bags and PC accessories Tucano® will enter the Australian market following the appointment of Simms International as sole national distributor for the fashionable Tucano range in Australia.

Simms International is a leading Apple distributor and supplier of IT products and services to the retail, reseller, system-integrator, distribution and OEM markets. Simms will offer its sales, marketing, technical support and logistics expertise to help its resellers take full advantage of opportunities to sell the Tucano products.

“Tucano has been looking to introduce our bags to the Australian market in line with our international expansion. After doing research and travelling to Australia to find the right distributor to represent us, we chose Simms as our partner because it has both the channels and the strong retail background to help Australians fall in love with Tucano products,” said Albert Lin, Tucano, Sales Development, Asia Pacific.

“With its go-to-market structure and long term relationships with Australia’s largest retailers, Simms has the right approach and access to key players such as Apple Premium Resellers and Apple Authorized resellers, as well as mass-merchant retailers and independent stores, to successfully drive Tucano’s market penetration.”

According to Danny Moore, Managing Director of Simms International, “Tucano is a natural match for Simms’ growing portfolio. It fits with our mission to be the number one partner for our vendors in our chosen markets and to align with vendors who are category leading or have the potential to be.

“Tucano’s fashionable, functional range makes it a very exciting brand that will provide Australians with more style and choice in computer bags and accessories for the mobile environment. Its strong focus on edgy, premium quality Italian design will have great sales appeal across the Apple world and the broader PC market.

“We are looking forward to working closely with Tucano to establish their brand and achieve their goals for growth in the Australian market,” Moore said.
