Microsoft aims to reach next 1 billion customers by 2015

Latest Window-based gadgets unveiled in Asia

In line with its goal to reach the next one billion customers by 2015, Microsoft, under its Unlimited Potential program and partnership with Netopia, recently unveiled its first Windows Technology Zone at EGG-Netopia in SM Mall of Asia, showcasing the latest Windows-based gadgets and Microsoft products and solutions that enable users to increase productivity, efficiency, and connectivity.

Microsoft Unlimited Potential is a worldwide initiative that aims to enable sustained social and economic development by ensuring that ICT remains relevant, accessible, and affordable. "We are continually exploring initiatives that bank on the power of technology to address people's needs and improve the way we live. Through the Unlimited Potential program, we make sure that these solutions are easily available to everyone," said Rajesh Soundararajan, regional lead for Unlimited Potential Group Shared Access, Microsoft Asia Pacific.

With the theme "Life without walls," the Windows TechZone is the first one-stop shop hub for Microsoft technologies and innovation and is being piloted in the Philippines due to Filipinos' desire to always be in touch with their family and peers. "Filipino consumers are becoming more inclined to the digital lifestyle. So we want to provide them with gadgets that will become tools of productivity and empowerment as well as meet their needs and interest," explained Soundararajan.

The launch also kicks off a roadshow for Windows TechZone as it goes to different Netopia branches nationwide. "We are very happy that Microsoft chose to partner with us in making their technology accessible to the consumers. In return, we hope will attract more traffic and generate interests among our customers," said George Tan, president of Netopia.

Throughout the implementation of the program, Microsoft and Netopia will apply different themes per season every six weeks and showcase different sets of Microsoft hardware and software products. The current theme, which will run until January 16, 2009 is "Have a PC Christmas" where Microsoft is offering consumers Windows-based gadgets that are ideal gifts for their loved ones this holiday season.

I’d recommend a Dell XPS 15 2-in-1 and the new Windows 10 to anyone who needs to get serious work done (before you kick back on your couch with your favourite Netflix show.)

MSI GT75 TITAN

I need power and lots of it. As a Front End Web developer anything less just won’t cut it which is why the MSI GT75 is an outstanding laptop for me. It’s a sleek and futuristic looking, high quality, beast that has a touch of sci-fi flare about it.

MSI GS65 Stealth Thin

If you can afford the price tag, it is well worth the money. It out performs any other laptop I have tried for gaming, and the transportable design and incredible display also make it ideal for work.
