Director Brett Ratner confirmed for God of War movie

Ratner's past turns in the director's chair included X-Men 3: The Last Stand and all three Rush Hour 3 movies.

Director Brett Ratner, who in the past has talked about filming a Guitar Hero movie, told movie blog UGO Tuesday he is slated to direct a movie based on God of War.

And while there is scant other information to go on with this title Wednesday, UGO yearns for an R-rating for a God of War movie. We're inclined to agree; the rating which would make sense given the game's mature themes, violence, and random sexual encounters. Watering it down wouldn't seem very Kratos.

Additionally, the GoW series, not known for the deepest of plots, would be the perfect fit for Ratner, teases UGO movie blog writer "Evil Adam."

Ratner's past turns in the director's chair included X-Men 3: The Last Stand and all three Rush Hour 3 movies.
