Optimizes Microsoft Exchange email system resources and File System Archiving to meet regulatory compliance; Ensures data accessibility and authenticity

Sydney, August 14, 2007 -- AustSTOR (ADS) Pty Ltd announces that Plasmon’s flagship product, UDO Archive Appliance has been qualified through the Symantec Technology Enabled Program with Symantec Enterprise Vault™ 7.0. Combined, these systems create an information lifecycle management (ILM) solution for Microsoft Exchange email system resources and File System Archiving that minimises risks of data and corruption, and helps businesses meet regulatory compliance.

When integrated, the UDO Archive Appliance acts as a transparent storage repository for Enterprise Vault. Email data requiring secure, long-term retention is directed to the UDO Archive Appliance which helps prevent archived messages and documents from being modified or deleted.

“Data integrity and security remain a top priority for businesses today,” said Raja Srinivasan, senior manager, Technology Enabled Program at Symantec. “By integrating Plasmon’s UDO Archive Appliance and Symantec Enterprise Vault 7.0 for Non-WORM, we’ve created an affordable, user-friendly ILM solution that meets legal and regulatory record retention requirements, and is highly scalable to meet growing data needs.”

Users who archive their data with this new ILM solution are able to leverage the multi-tiered storage capabilities and security of Plasmon’s UDO Archive Appliance and the simplified data management of Enterprise Vault. The data archive system allows users to retain more content, reduce IP loss, and rapidly search and find content while complying with all pertinent data management regulations and reducing customer risk.

“An email archiving strategy that includes Plasmon’s UDO Archive Appliance helps mitigate the risk of data loss and corruption, reduce storage costs, and improve overall system performance. By combining the key benefits of UDO Archive Appliance and the Symantec Enterprise Vault 7.0, organisations can minimise archiving costs while providing a more reliable long-term data management solution.” Said Bruce Macdonald Business Development Manager at AustSTOR.

Mr Macdonald continued “Archiving with UDO Archive Appliance and Symantec Enterprise Vault 7.0 for Non-WORM lowers the cost of e-discovery, increasing user productivity and improving Microsoft Exchange recovery. The combined system also removes PST problems and facilitates Exchange Server consolidation and migration, resulting in further cost savings.”
