Competition in the ANZ Identity and Access Management Market Heats Up, Finds IDC

 • 25 July, 2007 16:05

NORTH SYDNEY, 25th July 2007 - There has been a high level of vendor consolidation in the Identity and Access Management (IAM) market in recent years. As a consequence there are now many strong suite vendors in the ANZ market. In 2006 these vendors focused on integrating their acquired solutions, making product enhancements (e.g. improving workflow and auditing capabilities etc.), building a pipeline and winning new customers.

With so many large and capable suite vendors pushing their integrated suite offerings, IDC expects that future competition will intensify. As a result, the market should expect to see more aggressive fighting for tenders, slightly moderated prices, and better solutions for customers.

IDC's latest study, titled, Australia and New Zealand Identity and Access Management Competitive Analysis, 2007, provides a competitive analysis with comprehensive profiles of leading IAM suite vendors in the ANZ market including; BMC, CA, HP, IBM, Novell, Microsoft, Oracle, RSA, the Security Division of EMC, and Sun Microsystems.

This report also includes an IDC Leadership Grid rating the performance of these vendors in the ANZ market. IDC’s analysis also provides insight into developments, trends, and challenges in this increasingly competitive market and identifies the characteristics that IAM vendors will need to be successful in the ANZ market.

"From a user perspective, IAM solutions help organisations manage risk, improve corporate oversight, protect assets, improve productivity, reduce cost and complexity and simplify the compliance process. IDC believes that customers increasingly will be looking for long-term solutions built on a common platform offering strong integration, workflow capabilities and manageability. Suite vendors that can provide integrated end-to-end IAM solutions will therefore be in a good position to compete in the ANZ market," said Patrik Bihammar, Senior Analyst, Security Solutions, IDC Australia.

It’s easy to set up, it’s compact and quiet when printing and to top if off, the print quality is excellent. This is hands down the best printer I’ve used for printing labels.
