PERPETUAL SELECTS PATCHLINK UPDATE 6.3 FOR ENTERPRISE WIDE POLICY ENFORCEMENT AND AUTOMATED VULNERABILITY MANAGEMENT

 • 01 May, 2007 15:55

PatchLink Corporation, the global leader in security and vulnerability management, today announced that Perpetual a trusted provider of financial services has standardised on its award winning PatchLink Update™ 6.3 platform to protect its organisation against security-related vulnerabilities.

Perpetual previously used a free Microsoft update service to protect its servers and workstations for Microsoft applications and operating system updates. Perpetual found the tool insufficient as it did not cater to non-Microsoft applications and wanted a more robust monitoring, policy enforcement, and reporting solution to ensure more effective security policy management. After a thorough review of alternative solutions, Perpetual selected PatchLink Update 6.3 and began deployment across its servers and workstations in January 2007.

“Perpetual strives to continually improve the technologies and processes used in our security practices, including vulnerability assessment, remediation and reporting” said Eduard Grueninger, General Manager of IT Services for Perpetual. “As a financial company, we are heavily reliant on IT systems and cannot afford any business disruptions or security breaches. We selected PatchLink because we needed a powerful solution that can deliver capabilities beyond what a free software offered and to further enhance the current processes used at Perpetual.

“PatchLink enables us to more effectively administer and enforce internal IT policies that we established to ensure that our work stations, servers and laptops are properly updated with the latest security patches and compliant against those pre-established policies. PatchLink also ensures that we meet our internal and external security IT audit requirements by providing a thorough assessment and consolidated enterprise reporting on the status of all our IT assets for policy and regulatory compliance.” Grueninger continued.

Chris Wood, Director of PatchLink ANZ commented: “PatchLink Update provides Perpetual with a service delivery framework that ensures all known and unknown vulnerabilities are effectively discovered and prioritised for remediation during service windows available to the Perpetual IT team. Furthermore, the Update provides Perpetual with a flexible architecture to easily integrate with over a dozen Network Access Control vendors including Cisco, Microsoft, and Juniper Networks to ensure additional levels of end point policy enforcement.”
