I've been doing this technology writing thing long enough that I'm used to being bombarded by press releases that use ploys like cute names, excellent design or particularly bad design in a bid to get my attention. Over the years I've built up a pretty good immunity, but every so often someone manages to get me.
Props, then, to ShaggyMac, who were touting an "advanced, molecular level" antibacterial laptop spray cleaner that, they claim, cleans your laptop screen and other optical surfaces far better than any regular household cleaner or alcohol-based spray. Each 5-ounce bottle sells for US$8.95.
So what did they use to get my attention? The product's name: OptiMist Prime.
