• 07 December, 2006 14:58

Delivers a spellbinding and interactive listener experience

Legion Interactive, a leader in providing digital and interactive communication solutions, and Macquarie Regional Radioworks have launched – an exciting, world-class web portal that consolidates the individual sites of all 86 Macquarie Regional Radioworks’ radio stations from one destination point. The portal went live on November 27, 2006.

delivers a compelling and interactive listener experience, exciting promotional offerings and the opportunity for advertisers to reach listeners of one of the largest network of stations in the country.

“From now on, every station has the same professional, high impact web presence, promoting station programs and personalities, national and local competitions and other regional information,” said Mark Tesoriero, Head of Production at Legion Interactive. “The focus of portal is to support the radio network and its listeners with the best interactive tools and content, and to provide a cross platform radio/web offering to advertisers.”

With the 86 stations reaching 2.6 to 3.0 million listeners weekly, national brands have been quick to realise the potential. Launch partner Austar and advertisers ANZ and Dell were early supporters, along with Mitsubishi which is rolling out a major, site-wide promotion.

“In our commitment to creating a world-class offering, Macquarie Regional Radioworks has formed a partnership with Legion Interactive. It is our aim to provide our listeners with the best possible experience and position as a vital destination for advertisers looking to reach our unrivalled network of stations,” said Rhys Holleran, Chief Executive Officer of Macquarie Regional Radioworks.

The portal project is a partnership between Regional Radioworks and industry specialists Legion Interactive which defined and managed the build and content upload. Legion Interactive will manage advertising sales and national promotional activity across SMS, IVR, Web and Mobile.

provides 86 radio stations nationally with a central online publishing environment that enables each station to engage with its own listeners and push its specific content direct to the web. Localised content is supported with town and regional news and weather, thanks to relationships with News Interactive and The Weather Channel.

The portal features a membership profiling system that will soon allow personalised content and promotional opportunities, and enhance the targeting capabilities of Double Click’s Ad Publishing System. It also offers Blue Sky Frog’s mobile content downloads and is shortly to launch an Asia Pacific first in the music sales area.

As the Maserati or BMW of laptops, it would fit perfectly in the hands of a professional needing firepower under the hood, sophistication and class on the surface, and gaming prowess (sports mode if you will) in between.
