You may have noticed that the forthcoming PSP game Lumines II will feature comtemporary songs and music videos (by "today's most cutting edge musicians," which generally means they aren't) instead of the generic yet appropriate techno and background animation that was heard and seen in the background of the original Lumines. Well, yesterday Buena Vista Games annouced the artists and videos that will be appearing in Lumines II. They include the Black Eyed Peas ("Pump It"), Chemical Brothers ("Star Guitar"), Fatboy Slim ("Gangster Trippin'" -- say, isn't that song eight years old?), and Gwen Stefani ("Hollaback Girl"), among others.
This seems like a questionable idea -- if you pay too much attention to the music videos, you won't be able to concentrate on the game. If you ignore the videos to play the game, then why have them at all?
