Symantec's Norton Brand Reaches Milestone of 200 Millions Products Sold

<p>AUSTRALIA, Sydney – 15 June 2006 – Symantec Corp. today announced that its world renowned Norton brand of internet security solutions has arrived at a remarkable milestone of 200 million Norton products sold.</p>
<p>“Symantec and the Norton brand have been synonymous with comprehensive internet security protection for more than 20 years and our goal from day one has been to give people peace of mind with the kind of reliable internet protection that only Symantec can deliver,” said Enrique Salem, senior vice president, Consumer Products and Solutions, for Symantec. “To reach this outstanding milestone is a credit to the company’s long-term leadership through innovation and development of next-generation security technologies.”</p>
<p>To celebrate this achievement, Symantec has selected a customer to represent all of the consumers around the world who have chosen Norton products 200 million times for their PC protection. Ken Mercier, a postal worker from Los Angeles, visited a Culver City, Calif. CompUSA store recently to purchase Norton Internet Security 2006 to secure his wife’s notebook computer. On the way out, he was selected by a Symantec representative to be the face of the 200 million milestone. Mercier, a longtime Norton product user, received a prize pack from Symantec and CompUSA worth more than US$8,000. The prizes included a complete line of Norton security software, an HP notebook computer, two digital cameras, a 30GB video iPod and a variety of other exciting consumer electronics.</p>
