NetComm Launches New Range of Hands Free Devices for the VoIP Softphone Market

 • 02 March, 2006 12:35

NetComm, a leading Australian provider of communications products and solutions, has launched two new VoIP accessories designed specifically for the VoIP softphone market – the V25 head set and the V35 speakerphone. Softphone calls are VoIP calls made from PC to PC, rather than through telephone handsets.

“NetComm is pleased to announce the latest in their VoIP range with the launch of the V25 and V35. The new accessories also mark NetComm’s first VoIP offering outside of the traditional hardware market, providing a new level of convenience for softphone users,” said David Stewart, Managing Director, NetComm. “The V25 and V35 once again reinforce NetComm’s commitment to providing low cost and simple technology solutions for all home and small business users.”

The V25 headset is an ideal solution for home and business users looking for high-quality sound, comfort and privacy to enable softphone VoIP calls to be taken in a busy office or noisy home. The V25 comes with a built in microphone for use with softphone VoIP services and also includes a separate volume adjustment and microphone on/off switch.

The high-quality sound and microphone also makes the product ideal for “gamers”.

The V35 speakerphone provides an alternate hands free option from a headset/microphone combination, whilst not compromising on sound quality. The V35 also offers users the option of having more than one person on a softphone VoIP call at a time; meaning business users can now arrange softphone VoIP conference calls and home users can talk to family or friends overseas as a group. The unit uses the latest Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology to ensure exceptional sound quality and deliver echo-free calls (echo is a common complaint of VoIP softphone users).

Both models don’t require a driver and offer an easy installation process - the V25 simply plugs into the speaker and microphone ports of your sound card and the V35 plugs directly into a USB port (which provides the power) and the speaker and microphone ports on a PC sound card.

Softphone VoIP service providers include Skype, iChat, MSN, Windows/Yahoo Messenger and other SIP softphone programs provided by VoIP Service Providers.

NetComm’s V25 headset and V35 speakerphone are available now through NetComm product stockists nationally and are priced at $24.95 (inc. GST) and $129 per unit (inc. GST), respectively. Product inquiries can be made to NetComm on (02) 9424 2070 or sales@netcomm.com.au.

As the Maserati or BMW of laptops, it would fit perfectly in the hands of a professional needing firepower under the hood, sophistication and class on the surface, and gaming prowess (sports mode if you will) in between.
