What's the point of designing a camera if the lens can't focus on an object? We briefly played with the Samsung Pro 815 on the weekend as we were some of thousands of Sydneysiders who turned out around the Harbour and Sydney Airport to see the new big bird in the sky - the A380 touch down on runway 34L.

The Samsung appealed because it has a big 420mm zoom lens, that way ensuring decent long and close range shots of the aeroplane. But it never really worked that way. Auto Focus was hit and miss and the manual focus was hardly better. One of our reviewers will look at it more closely than I in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for his review. In the meantime here is a pic of the Airbus, one of the best closeups we managed to get.
