Fujitsu PC Australia promotes environmentally friendly upgrade

 • 09 November, 2005 11:20

Fujitsu PC Australia has enhanced the LifeBook S, C and E Series with cutting-edge technologies, embellishments, and most importantly, in compliance with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS).

The RoHS is a directive from the European Union restricting the use of six hazardous substances in electronic components shipped into Europe. This directive requires that manufacturers should be able to demonstrate negative or minimal levels of substances including Lead, Hexalent Chromium, Mercury, PolyBrominated Biphenyl, Cadmium, and PolyBrominated Diphenyl Ether in their product manufacturing and disposal.

As Fujitsu is committed to promoting environmental friendliness, a 3-pronged approach has been adopted to deliver comprehensive efforts on environmental management with an environmental action plan, activities for eliminating specified hazardous substances, and a green procurement direction which involves the promotion of procurement from suppliers that are eager for environmental protection activities and the procurement of products that are low in environmental loads.

With this commitment in mind, Fujitsu developed their latest models to be RoHS compliant, acknowledging the importance of ensuring sustainable communal prosperity. The refreshed S series – LifeBook S6240, S7020, S7021 and S2110 – weighing at less than 2kg*, maintaining its sophisticated and sleek outlook, ideal for the avid traveller and budding entrepreneur. The LifeBook C1320 is a value-priced desktop alternative designed with perfect balance of performance and price; and the LifeBook E8020, a refreshed superior performance notebook boasting the Intel® Pentium® M 780 processor, currently the fastest processor in the market.

All Fujitsu products will be RoHS-compliant earlier than the specified date July 1, 2006 enforced by the European Union.

It’s easy to set up, it’s compact and quiet when printing and to top if off, the print quality is excellent. This is hands down the best printer I’ve used for printing labels.

The print quality also does not disappoint, it’s clear, bold, doesn’t smudge and the text is perfectly sized.
