NetComm announces new addition to award-winning wireless gateway family

 • 07 November, 2005 11:38

NetComm, a leading Australian provider of communications products and solutions, has launched the NB600W Super-G Wireless Router – an ideal general purpose router for the home, home office or small business that comes from the same family as the award winning NB620W Super G Wireless Gateway.

The Super-G family of products allows access to the Super-G wireless mode when used with NetComm’s new range of Super-G wireless adaptors. Super-G mode gives the ability to turbocharge transfer rates up to 108Mbps*.

“A router is the nerve centre for any home of office network and the NB600W delivers strong performance and an excellent feature-set for the discerning user,” said David Stewart Managing Director of NetComm.

The NB600W is a state-of-the-art Wireless Gateway with the latest in advanced broadband wireless connectivity.

“The wireless features on the NB600W are powerful in two ways; it can deliver excellent speed and range in Super-G mode, yet will also work with older 802.11b wireless standards for complete compatibility”, said Stewart.

The unit can be connected to a Cable, ADSL or wireless broadband modem to access a broadband Internet service, and delivers networking and Internet access for multiple computers in a stylish device.

The NB600W also delivers on the security side which is essential for any network. It has a Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) firewall that checks each packet of data for integrity and blocks any data packets that are suspect. In addition, the Wireless Access Point comes with Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) and Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) wireless security to ensure that the wireless connection always remains secure.

The NetComm NB600W Super-G Wireless Router is available now from computer resellers for $169 inc. GST. NetComm’s range of Super-G wireless adapters, the NP642 Super-G PCI card, NP643 Super-G PCMCIA (PC) card and the NP644 Super-G USB wireless adapter are also available now through NetComm.
