MAG 08/02/2010 12:00:00
Here's the unfortunate truth about MAG: Plenty of players simply do not care about teamwork
It's suddenly very quiet. I'm lying prone in the high grass with a scoped ATAC 2000, ready to pop up and nail any enemies foolish enough to try to come and clear my charges from their AA battery. We've been lucky so far: Only a couple minutes in and we've already taken down their bunkers, forcing them to spawn all the way back in their main base. If we can successfully keep the bad guys away from the AA, our drop planes will be free to buzz the battlefield -- meaning we'll be able to parachute onto the middle of the map rather than slogging in from the distant edge.
Well known hacker gains access to PlayStation software
Up to this point, just about every gaming console--from the Xbox 360 to the Nintendo DS--has been hacked in some way, usually to allow it to play pirated games. This excluded the PlayStation 3, which remained unhacked for over three years, leading many to believe that it is virtually impossible to hack.

Sony will launch worldwide a motion controller for its PlayStation 3 in the fall of this year alongside an "extensive" line-up of compatible software titles, it said Wednesday.
Named & shamed: the nine most overrated video games of 2009
2009 sure went by quick, eh readers? It feels like only yesterday that we were sticking the boot into 2008's most overrated games (did Grand Theft Auto IV really come out two years ago?) Soon it'll be 2010's turn. We're putting our early bets on Heavy Rain and Gran Turismo 5.
A lower price and hot software attracted consumers
A mid-year price cut and a strong lineup of software titles gave Sony's PlayStation 3 a record holiday season, the company said Wednesday. Sales of the console in the last five weeks of the year totaled 3.8 million units worldwide, a 76 percent jump on 2008.
Square Enix's latest roleplaying extravaganza achieves opening sales of 1.5 million units in Japan, bolsters PS3 sales
Square Enix's roleplaying spectacle-spinner Final Fantasy XIII sold over 1.5 million units in its first four days on store shelves, reports Japanese tracker Enterbrain. Not bad at all, considering the game's only available for the PlayStation 3 in Japan (the English-language version for both PS3 and Xbox 360 doesn't ship until next March). Square Enix president Yoichi Wada revealed the company has already shipped 1.8 million copies, and expressed hope sales would reach the 2 million mark shortly.

According to Lynagh, the PS3 version will likely sustain itself for awhile on the large amount of user-created content
G4TV found an article on Critical Gamer teasing its upcoming interview with Media Molecule's Martin Lynagh by including some choice quotes about the possibility (or lack thereof) of a LittleBigPlanet 2. Most notably, Lynagh believes that a sequel would fracture the audience "We'd never want to do that." Lynagh said "That'd be the most counterproductive thing you could do I think."
Tekken 6 02/11/2009 15:40:00
Like its well-received predecessor, Tekken 6 is an explosive, fast-paced fighter
If you're already a die-hard fan of the Tekken series then you've probably made up your mind about Tekken 6 already, so I won't bother wasting my breath telling you whether or not the game is any good.
WET 30/10/2009 15:32:00
Life is cheap, and so are bullets
Video games have long borrowed liberally from Hollywood, but they typically look no further than glossy big budget film productions for inspiration. WET goes in another direction, drawing its strength from the grit and grime of a 1970's martial arts drive-in flick. The results are sometimes rocky, but WET's idiosyncratic style and intense action makes it unlike anything else you'll play this year.
