Hadi Partovi Code.org crossed two milestones on Feb. 28. The nonprofit -- which is dedicated to helping K-12 kids learn computer programming -- turned one year old, and it surpassed 1 billion lines of code written by students using Code.org tutorials. Hadi Partovi, who cofounded the site with his twin brother, Ali Partovi, has helped raise more than $10 million from a range of partners (including Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Juniper) and is working to change policy on the federal, state and local levels to expand access to computer science in K-12 schools. He’s a wakesurfing phenom -- check him out holding a laptop, while wakesurfing, to promote Code.org’s Hour of Code campaign.
