Stan Litow Stan Litow is driving IBM’s efforts to be a good corporate citizen. Under his leadership, IBM created voice recognition technology to help children and adults learn to read, a virtual supercomputer to speed research on cancer and AIDS, and digital imaging technology to improve water quality. Litow also helped launch IBM’s Corporate Service Corps, a Peace Corps-like initiative that build leaders within IBM while giving high-tech assistance to communities in emerging markets, and he spearheads the company’s Smarter Cities Challenge, a philanthropic initiative to help cities become more effective. During his 20-year tenure at IBM, Litow has been tapped by the Mayor of New York City, the Governor of New York, and the President of the United States for his expertise on education issues.
