8: iPad Air
Critics will say that Apple is running out of tricks, but the latest iPad rewrites the rules of how thin and light a full-size tablet should be.
Consider: The Air delivers a 9.7-inch, 2048-by-1536-pixel display, yet measures a seemingly impossible 0.30 inch thick and weighs almost exactly a single pound. To put this in context, the new Surface 2 measures 0.35 inch thick but weighs a full half-pound more than the Air.
Add in Apple’s new A7 processor and access to the world’s greatest mobile-app store, and the iPad Air can’t be ignored.
